How to Backup Blogger
Here's how to backup your blog hosted at Blogger:
Step 1: Go to your blogger dashboard (http://www.blogger.com/home) and click on the Settings link for the blog you want to backup. In this example, I'm using the TekDig blog and I've highlighted what you should look for.
Step 2: On the Settings page, click the Export blog link.
Step 3: On the Export your blog page, click the red DOWNLOAD BLOG button.
Step 4: Pretty quickly, you'll see a dialog box that will let you download the backup file to your computer. The file is named "blog" followed by today's date. In this example, it downloaded "blog-10-03-2009.xml".
If you use FireFox,
make sure Save File is selected
and then click the OK button.

If you use Internet Explorer,
first click the Save button.

Then, in the Save As dialog,
click the OK button.
That's it! You now have a backup copy. That one file contains formatting information, all of your published posts, and all your drafts. Store this file in a safe place so you can find it when you need it. You can use the "Import Blog" option back in step 2 to restore posts.
