How to Backup Typepad
You can create a backup of your TypePad site in just a few quick steps:
Step 1: Go to typepad.com and sign in.
Step 2: Select your blog from the Blogs drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Step 3: Click the Settings tab, then click the Import/Export on the left-side navigation menu. This will bring you to the page that shows the Export button.
Step 4: Click the Export button. This will display a progress bar and the message “Typepad is exporting your blog”.
Step 5: When the export is finished, the Export box will say “Done!”
Step 6: Right-click the download link and choose Save Target As… or Save Link As… to save the export file to your computer. You should give the file a reasonable name such as “myblog-2010-01-01.txt” rather than using the suggested name “Unnamed_Comet_Asset.txt”.
Important: This backup does not include your templates or any files that you uploaded to your blog. You will need to make copies of them separately. You can find more information at the typepad help site.
